Stay Healthy on the Job, Nurses!

“To do what nobody else will do, a way that nobody else can do, in spite of all we go through; is to be a nurse.”  – Rawsi Williams

Couldn’t agree more, Rawsi. A nursing career is all about spending time trying to improve the health and lives of patients. Here at HealthCareerWeb we want to not only help guide our health care professionals to find new opportunities, but to also be the best they can be! Today we’d like to give some key pointers to our nursing professionals on staying healthy while on duty. Why? Because making sure you’re taking care of yourself will better allow you to care-take for others. Keeping your day-to-day health and energy up will also keep you motivated to reach any of those personal goals you’re working towards.

Thanks to some studies and research by the Bureau of Labor Statistics,  LivestrongScrubs Magazine, and NursingLink, we’ve compiled some key tips for you to make it through the day nice and strong:

  • Drink plenty of water: we can’t say it enough, Drink Lots of Water!!
  • Snack healthy: mixed nuts, fruits and veggies, some of them are convenient to carry around on you.
  • Work your Core: focus on your core by tightening your abdominal muscles – you can do it whether you’re standing, sitting or walking
  • Take a Nap: Believe or not 10– 15mins of just closing your eyes can have “powerful” benefits with combating stress and improving your focus.
