Many healthcare professionals are turning to social media to aid in their job search, according to this infographic from AMN Healthcare. Significant increases have occurred in the number of professionals searching for employment via social media from 2010 to 2011. The average amount of social media job searches among healthcare professionals in 2010 was 1 in 5. This average has increased in 2011 to 1 in 3.

Social media has been gaining popularity and can be a helpful tool while searching for a job.  Many companies post current job openings on their social media pages, such as Twitter, Facebook and Google+. Each website has it’s advantages and can provide an assortment of healthcare employment search options.

AMN Healthcare’s infographic also breaks down the healthcare industry’s frequency of job searches via social media by job title. The position that utilizes social media while looking for employment most frequently is clinicians. Second are allied professionals, then followed by nurses, pharmacists and physicians.
